SJDAWC 2023 Webinar Series – Animal welfare issues in veterinary behavioural medicine

April 18 @ 2:00 PM - May 2 @ 3:00 PM

The Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) invites you to its three-part webinar series on Animal Welfare Issues in Veterinary Behavioural Medicine. The webinars feature Dr. Karen Overall, professor of behavioural medicine, AVC, and will take place on April 18, 25, and May 2, all beginning at 4 p.m. ADT.

This webinar series will identify signs of aggression in dogs, as well as recognize when these signs are a cry for help.  There will be a discussion on the damaging effects of punishment on companion animals, with a focus on using force and shock in dogs.  The series will end with a review of new and exciting research in veterinary behavioural medicine.

Veterinarians and veterinary technicians are eligible for continuing education credit. The webinar cost is $50 per webinar, or $120 for all three.  There will be no charge for veterinary or animal health technology students.
