Consultation- PIPS By-Law Changes- 2024

Consultation Matters

In 2020 the MVMA Council had noted long standing issues with the PIPS process. The Ad Hoc PIPS Rewrite Committee was formed is 2021 and met to review specific practice standards. MVMA staff, in consultation with the PIPS Committee, reviewed procedural issues and has developed proposals to improve the PIPS inspection process.

The MVMA is now in a position to consult with membership on the proposed changes to the MVMA PIPS By-Law.

As the governing body of the MVMA, the MVMA Council upholds its obligations to serve and protect the public interest by monitoring risks present in the practice of veterinary medicine in Manitoba and ensuring that the association properly carries out its functions.

While eligible members ultimately have the right to express their opinion on a proposed by-law through voting, the MVMA Council seeks input from members at various points of projects to ensure that the MVMA Council is considering and learning from the experience, knowledge and expertise of members.

The MVMA Council thanks you for participating in this consultation process. The MVMA is best able to regulate veterinary medicine and advocate for members when membership is actively engaged.
