Connecting Manitoba Practices with Internationally Educated Veterinarians

For Clinics

The Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association calls on clinics interested in supporting Internationally Educated Veterinarians (IEVs) as they navigate the National Examining Board (NEB) process.

This initiative aims to connect IEVs with Manitoba clinics while they work toward full licensure in the province.

By joining this resource, your clinic will receive information about candidates once the MVMA has confirmed their enrolment in the NEB process and completion of examinations required to obtain a restricted licence. Please note that the MVMA cannot guarantee a restricted licence for these candidates unless they have applied for and been approved to hold one.

To join the mailing list, please complete your registration here: IEV Information Sign-up

If you have any questions about this initiative, please email mvmainfo@mvma.ca.

For Internationally Educated Veterinarians

If you graduated from a veterinary program not accredited by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) or the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and are enrolled in the National Examining Board (NEB) certification process, you may be eligible for a restricted licence with the MVMA. More information here under Route 3.

Once you have successfully completed the following NEB requirements:

  • Basic and Clinical Sciences Examinations (BCSE)

  • North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)

  • Registration for the Preliminary Surgical Assessment (PSA)

You are eligible to access the Connecting Manitoba Practices with Internationally Educated Veterinarians resource. This resource allows you to provide your CV, which will be sent to practices that have expressed interest in hiring Internationally Educated Veterinarians. This may help you find a supportive supervisor while you hold a restricted licence. To access this resource, click here.
